PPG to showcase durable PPG TESLIN label solutions at Labelexpo Europe 2023

PITTSBURGH, August 31, 2023 – PPG (NYSE: PPG) will showcase its portfolio of durable PPG TESLIN® label materials for adhesive coaters, packaging specialists, and label converters during Labelexpo Europe 2023, September 11 – 13 in Brussels, Belgium.

PPG Teslin substrate is a durable, secure, and easy-to-print synthetic material that excels in label applications that demand a tough, high-performance solution. Thesubstrate absorbs inks, toners, adhesives, and coatings, locking them into its structure for long-lasting durability and security with no additional processing or expense. It is also flexible and conformable, enabling long-lasting adhesion to cylindrical items and other tough to label surfaces.

These combination of performance features makes PPG Teslin substrate ideal for applications that require printed data to remain on labels, such as brand protection, tamper-evident security, medical/pharmaceutical and in-mold applications. It is also used in the chemicals industry for labels that are compliant with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals and British Standard 5609 (BS 5609).

“Visitors will learn more about how Teslin substrate offers up to 60% less plastic compared to other synthetics making Teslin label material a great option for helping companies in their sustainability goals,” said Fabrizio Mandingorra, PPG global segment manager, Teslin labels.

PPG Teslin substrate is compatible with a wide range of print technologies, from digital inkjet, laser, and thermal transfer to flexographic and offset. It offers bubble-free application and provides a long-lasting adhesive bond that can endure extreme conditions. The static-dissipative nature of PPG Teslin substrate helps minimize static buildup during digital printing, improving throughput and print quality.
