TLMI’s Ratio Study provides converter participants financial trends information and significant insights into competitiveness, profitability and productivity. Each participating company receives an individualized analysis with approximately 30 pages of detail providing relative strength ratings in 13 important areas of company performance.

The TLMI Illuminator publishes association news and information about TLMI’s events, awards and certifications. The Illuminator is an industry publication uniquely positioned, delivering news and editorial to best in class narrow web printers and suppliers throughout the North American marketplace.
Produced in cooperation with a leading trade magazine, the TLMI Products & Services Guide aids in marketing your company and its products. This guide lists your company’s information along with the products and services you provide to the industry. It is published in the July issue of a leading industry publication and mailed to over 1,000 potential customers a year.

This statistical Wage & Labor Study is fielded in the Spring of each odd numbered calendar year to help members understand how their pay scales align with other converters. Organized by Tarsus as part of a global series, Labelexpo Americas is the place that label converters from across the Americas come to see new technology, source suppliers and buy new machinery. Participants in the underlying surveys receive the resulting Quarterly Trends Report. A Quarterly Trend Report from the archive is offered to give you a feel for the breadth and depth of information each quarterly report contains.
The TLMI Index & Trend Report, published biannually in the 2nd and 4th quarters, features industry forecasts and projections for each of the major narrow web sectors including food, beverage, personal care, pharmaceuticals, retail, durable goods and automotive. The report tracks TLMI converting companies’ sales performance against major economic indices, giving members an invaluable tool against which to chart their own performance. The TLMI Index & Trend report also features brand owner (packaging buyer) surveys, converter capital equipment purchasing projections and benchmarking data to help TLMI members fine tune their production and business planning strategies.

All converters have the opportunity to enter their labels and tags into TLMI’s annual competition. Please see the awards brochure for deadline. The TLMI North American Digital Label Study 2015
Published in February 2015, the TLMI North American Digital Label Study 2015 provides a comprehensive assessment of the market for digital printing in the U.S. and Canada. The completed study offers TLMI member companies a critical resource; one that provides with both peer-level data for benchmarking purposes and data on trend predictions, barriers to entry, and opportunities in the digital market from the viewpoint of their customers.
The content of the study is based on quantitative analysis and qualitative feedback derived from surveying the following groups:
- TLMI member converters in North America
- TLMI member suppliers
- Packaging buyers/brand owners
- TLMI non-member converters in North America that have digital presses
The study reports on the current state of the North American market for digital printing, identifying and analyzing the following:
Market sizing: A breakdown of the North American narrow web sector by conventional, electrophotography and digital inkjet printing; and value/growth rate projections for each technology over the next five years.
The digital profit curve: Surveying the broader market to report on the real value an installed digital press delivers over a certain time period, in addition to the percentage of total sales and revenues a newly installed digital press generates over a 3-4 year timeframe. This section will plot digital sales revenues for a label converting company from installation to year-over-year gains over 3-4 years post digital press installation.
Digital trending per end-use vertical: Defining the specific trends in digital printing per end-use category (food, beverage, pharma, etc.). Different technologies lend themselves to different end-use categories and packaging buyer feedback will be an important part of this section.
Run size pain points for converters: Examining current requirements for run/job sizes and what the run size ‘pain points’ are for converters with conventional printing presses on their production floors. Run size trending will be examined with projections per end-user vertical to 2018.
